BFF's thoughts after finishing the manga.
"Such a slow paced manga. I really respect the ending and artistic vision but it really took its time and it could drag at times. I feel like the art was incredibly by the numbers and it would have been stronger as prose. I have no idea why the ending surprises anyone when Aqua's suicidality had been set up throughout the manga's run. It is actually incredibly obvious. The fact he'd use his death to incriminate the culprit, Kamiki Hikaru, was incredibly obvious. It was a very predictable ending and it ends on an incredibly bittersweet note. I feel like a lot of the critiques are bad faith. People wanted this show to be a harem wish fulfillment series when it was never going to be that. The actual issues with this manga in my opinion are not properly addressing the parallels of the series' two age gap relationships and their distinctions. An underdeveloped and under explored antagonist who feels incredibly one dimensional by the series' conclusion. And a failure to meaningfully comment on the Idol industry or how it was affected by the pandemic. The series pretends COVID did not exist and it is much weaker for it. I feel like commenting on the acting industry or idol industry during that time period would've been awesome."
