I "fixed" my cross-eye dominance & (mild) lazy eye issues by putting from the wrong side
For context, I'm right handed, left eye dominant with a right lazy eye. My right eye is basically just there for depth perception and extra clarity. I'd say 70-80% of my sight picture comes from the left. This typically manifests by unconsciously aiming open of the target or overcompensating by being too shut.
I've tried to change my stance, ball placement shaft lean, grips, putters heads. Basically most resources will tell you to actively contort your setup to compensate for the optical illusion. Frankly, none of them work because of the sheer amount of mental it takes to convince yourself that this is normal.
In sheer desperation, I bought a cheap left handed putter earlier this January and my god it actually fucking worked. I went from ~39 putts per round to ~33. Plus I'm actually enjoying putting now that I don't have to think! The stroke is surprisingly trivial since most putting strokes are quite symmetrical.
