Okay, before you all jump me for being “heartless” or whatever, this is at least better handled than All Stars to the degree she isn’t being an asshole about it but they literally live together and this is just a game. You cannot ask me to give a damn that she misses Ellie so much when their relationship is seemingly stable and they’ll see each other again.

And this isn’t just a Gabby thing, I would’ve been rolling my eyes at Tom, Aiden, and Anastasia if they went into a depressed spiel about how much they miss their partners.

This type of thing would work for me if we were having this scene with someone like Rosa, Lake, Ally, and Benji missing their loved ones because unlike Gabby:

Rosa is less experienced in the game so I can see her starting to miss Sofia.

Lake has never rejoined the game after meeting her girlfriend so obviously she’s bound to feel the effects of doing so, especially given how ruthless this game is.

Benji may have a healthy relationship with Tristan, but his life and mental state is far from stable, so I can see why he’d miss them.

Ally literally just went through a breakup with Hunter, she probably still lives with her unsupportive mother, she had a falling out with Aiden because he decided to be a petty asshole, and she doesn’t really have a lot of positive experiences this season to counteract that, so if she started missing Hunter and Tess, I’d completely understand.

But considering Gabby has such a happy life and has done this song and dance before, I find myself not caring as much as I should that she misses Ellie so much outside of feeling bad that her father went out of his way to be a dick when contacting her.

Was there much a point to this post? Probably not, but I wanted to analyze my feelings on this scene.

We’re STILL pulling the “I miss Ellie” crap!!!
