Endless Punishment Commander Deck in 2026?

Hi,

I am pretty new to MTG, but recently played draft with Duskmourn and really enjoyed it. I have friends who play Commander, so I decided to look through the card list of the Duskmourn set to see if anything interested me, and I came across Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls. I was happy to see that Valgavoth had a printed commander deck, but it is now out of print (making it pretty pricey) and a couple years old. Could anyone comment on whether the deck is worth it in 2026, and whether he is a viable pick as a commander?

I am not against building a deck outside of the premade structure deck if that is a more cost effective option. Many thanks to anyone who can provide some input!
