Do items transfer through save files?

First I’ll give a reason for asking:
I made a third save file and played normally, but now with the sword route theory and everything, I want to do an aborted weird route.
But I don’t want to play all over again chapter 3 and 4.
Can someone test if when you collect an item in a new save file it stays in an already made one?
