Post Flood cleanup questions

So our basement flooded last night. Not too bad and drained quickly after the rain stopped. But we have quite a few items ranging from small to large (queen size mattress, box spring) that's damaged and we want to throw away.

Can we leave it all curb side for trash day? How long ahead of time can we do that?
