Ethernet cable extension into garage

I would like to lay an ethernet cable into my garage from inside of the house to outside and into the garage through the garage door. This would mean that I have to drill to through the external wall of my house. I have a black and decker speed 2 drill and was wondering if this drill would suffice? Also is there any thing i should keep a watch for during the installment? Do's and don'ts appreciated...
