Generational gap
Dear Diary - 5 July 2026
Growing up with parents not being that open with me wasn't the issue but it's the silent treatment.
The looks of disappointment they give when I do something different from he path they carved for me. But wasn't the logic of being born as an individual to live how I want? Why do parents have to control everything?
I always tried telling myself that no,my fam is good they aren't controlling or toxic because at the end of the day, they do console me. But what's the use of mending a broken glass? Why break that glass in the first place if u have to stick it together again?
Because this time, the cracks will be present nd no they won't vanish. The role of family is to support each other not control their kids.
Why are they so scared that I will go away somewhere? That means they know they haven't treated me to the level where I wouldn't want to go away.
This is the generational gap we talk about, where the older generation doesn't want to get out of the toxic cycle nd discuss the issues for once. This behaviour makes their kids go silent eventually.
Cause why talk about it when we're gonna get scolded because of that.
