There are so many videos circling around where the exact same people comment that it's staged, yet what we're seeing in the video is genuine human emotion. While also going "slop" or "AI slop" on videos they're seeing for the first time, yet we saw that exact same video on Facebook 10 years ago when I still used it.

You can't judge whether or not something is "AI slop", and you can't judge whether or not a video is "staged" or not.

So many damn people lack real, human-to-human experiences where they think every moment of joy is staged, and it's both depressing and infuriating.

"Why were they filming???" Motherfucker, people have been filming great moments since before the internet.

"'Giving my daughter a puppy' it's staged. Why else would they be filming?" Are family photo albums not a thing anymore? Do people just not film baby's first steps, first word, first time sitting on a regular chair and eating normally?

People put that shit on film because you only get one chance on that one thing. If I were to give my 6 year old a puppy as a surprise, you can bet your ass I'm recording it. I may not put it online, but I'm definitely recording them opening the box. They'll appreciate "film" like that once they're grown up.

Obviously some AI generations are entirely obvious but I've seen way more "AI slop" comments on videos that I saw 10 years ago on Facebook than on actual videos that \*are\* AI slop.

Shut the fuck up. You can't, with confidence, judge any of these things. You think interhuman relations are staged every time you come across them, and anything else is "AI slop". What a miserable fucking existence.

If you see a video of a guy proposing to his girlfriend in a cool spot, yeah motherfucker. It's staged. Not in the sense that she's in on it, but because the dude assumes he only has to propose once so he sets up his phone to record the proposal. She may have seen it, she may not. It doesn't matter.

He is making memories and recording the exact moment those memories were made so he can look back on them later, or share that moment with his kids and family. He also chooses to share that video with the internet.

Not everything is engagement bait in this day and age. Sometimes people just share something nice and it gets reposted ad nauseum and goes through engagement-farm accounts and because they usually post staged bits/AI slop, it gets bombarded with "AI slop. Staged. Fake." etc.
