60 days in indo Sept/Oct
Looking for some advice on my first trip to Indonesia. I am an Intermediate-Advanced surfer traveling from east coast US with my non surfing girlfriend. Not on a crazy budget, wanna enjoy it and not miss out on anything but not tryna blow what I’ve saved up.
We plan to stay for 2 months, with it being our first time we are definitely starting off in Bali, specifically in Uluwatu. I’m not super used to shallow reef breaks, the closest comparison I have surfed is in Portugal and Puerto Rico. So a bit nervous starting here with the nuts crowds and pretty insane waves but I’m sure hoping to settle in and find the groove somewhere in between without wrecking my body too early and feeling like I’m just surviving.
I’ll be bringing a 5’10 JS Monsta to rip and a 6’0 Pyzel Ghost to get tubed. I’m goofy foot, first trip where the premier waves are lefts hallelujah
We are keeping it super open ended, not much for plans. We definitely wanna explore Bali a bit and then jump over to Lombok of course.. I really want to progress my surfing and feel like I mainly just need reps on a fun wave and find a video guy for hire.
My girlfriend isn’t super super gnarly so we likely won’t be extreme roughing it too hard, but looking for places where we can find the balance of lesser crowded waves and natural beauty with even just a little bit to offer outside of surfing.
Any general recommendations would be awesome, I really want to hear from people with real experience in indo that can point me in the general right direction zone wise.
Thanks guys, have the best day.
