Confused between biotechnolgy or medicine

I am in final year of high school and nexy year i will be in university. My favorite subjects are chemistry and biology . But i am confused about choosing between medicine ( which is minimum 10 years of study ) and biotechnolgy ( which is minimum 5 years of study ) . I am confused because if i go into medicine , by the time i start practicing i am afraid market will be more saturated than ever before. and from what i am hearing that biotechnolgy has very fewer jobs ( Demand and supply laws at play ) . Kindly guide. As its a high stake investment of both time and money .
