Recs for expecting parents new to Alexandria

My husband and I live in the Mount Vernon area and are new to the state. We are expecting a baby in the fall! Where are some places to know about as first time parents? Any hidden gems? Things like the mount vernon trail, rec centers, mom groups, etc. Thanks!!
