I had a dream that continued after I fell back asleep

Last night I woke up in the middle of a dream and remembered almost everything. I looked at the time drank a little water and went back to sleep.

What surprised me was that the dream seemed to continue from almost the exact same place. The people were the same the setting was the same and it felt like I had only pressed pause for a few minutes. I do not remember that happening before and it felt strangely realistic.

I have been wondering if this is something other people experience or if it was just a coincidence. Have you ever had a dream pick up where it left off after waking up for a short time? I would love to hear what it was like for you.
