Considering trading my 2023 Elantra Luxury model for a used 2023+ Toyota Sienna Hybrid (Ontario, Canada) – concerns about high mileage and long-term reliability

Hi everyone,

I'm currently driving a 2023 Hyundai Elantra and am considering trading it in for a pre-owned Toyota Sienna Hybrid (2023 model year or newer).

I live in Ontario, Canada, and I've noticed that most used Siennas listed on various websites, and other marketplaces already have 100,000 km or more on the odometer compared to my 40,000 km driven on my car.

I'd really appreciate some advice from current owners and those familiar with the Sienna Hybrid:

  • How reliable is a 2023+ Sienna Hybrid after 100,000+ km?
  • What maintenance should I expect around this mileage, and are there any major scheduled services that are expensive?
  • How well does the hybrid battery hold up over time? Should I be concerned about battery degradation or replacement costs after 100,000 km?
  • Are there any common issues, recalls, or design flaws with the 2023 and newer Sienna models that could lead to expensive repairs or owner regret?
  • If you purchased one with over 100,000 km, would you do it again, or would you wait for a lower-mileage example?

For context, I plan to keep the vehicle for several years, so long-term reliability and ownership costs are more important to me than getting the absolute lowest purchase price.

I'd love to hear both positive and negative ownership experiences before making a decision.

Thanks in advance!
