rising freshman aiming for MIT Math - what should I be doing?
I have always been doing the most accelerated math track as my school has been letting me (i passed Algebra 1 and Honours Geometry in middle school, and am doing AP Precalc, with intro into BC in freshman year), and have done some math tutoring as well.
this post is about extracurriculars and other things I need to be doing. I'm not naive, and I know how competitive MIT for Math is going to be, so I want to be as strong an applicant as I possibly can.
I'm aiming to take the AMC 10 this year as well, I've already spoken to my school's math department about registration, and I scored 23/25 on the AMC 8, which helped me into AP Precalc with intro, because of the honour certificate I got out of that. I want to represent the US at the IMO and I know that will help.
Is there anything else I should be doing right now? Math is literally everything I love and I want to do as much as I can, without burning out too much (because classes are just as important).
