"You shall henceforth be known as Akana Shigaraki." The white haired man proclaimed as he placed a necklace made from a sparrow's skull around her neck. ""To pay in blood"."
"MOMMY!? DADDY!? PLEASE, COME BACK!!! I'M SORRY!!! I'LL BE A GOOD GIRL FOREVER!!! I PROMISE!!! JUST COME BACK!!!!!!!!"
Himiko had only ran away for a few days after the playground incident. She was just trying to stop the bleeding from the other girl's skinned knee. She was trying to be a good girl but Mommy and Daddy punished her all the same. That night, she bundled up a bag full of clothes and climbed out the window. It was less than a week at most before she returned home. The exhaustion, cold, and hunger outweighing however long she'd be locked up in her room again for being a bad girl. At least then she'd have a warm bed and food. Yet, when she entered her house using the hidden spare key, all the furniture sans everything in her bedroom was gone. Every photo on the wall that didn't have her in them were missing from the walls. She had been left behind like a cat that was forgotten to be taken in the move.
Himiko's parents wanted to forget her.
---
The nice white haired man had found her a few days later, starving in the abandoned home. He simply reached his arm out and asked if she would like a new family. A new papa and a big brother. To prove that she would be loved in her new family, he told her that she could have some. Himiko hesitantly bit into his arm.
His blood tasted like rotten eggs.
She was so hungry though, that it didn't matter.
---
"You were were abused, beaten, abandoned, and forgotten... all for something that you couldn't control. All because you dared to love others differently. With me and Tomura's help though... you can create a new world. One where you can love others and be loved as you see fit. Now, for joining our family; I bestow a gift."
A gift? Himiko never received gifts from her parents ever since her quirk came in. Her birthdays and Christmases were always clothes. No dolls, or picture books, or tea sets. Her parents always saying that her greatest gift was them agreeing to raise the demon that had taken the place of their child when she brought home that bird.
The white haired man held out a clutched hand before opening it and letting dangle a necklace.
Himiko's blood froze.
"To forever remind you of your first love... and the cause of your pain."
A necklace made of a sparrow's skull. The string looped through the eye sockets.
"Your family abandoned you and thus you shall rid yourself of the name they gave you and take a new one. You are no longer Himiko Toga. ... You are now..." He placed the necklace around her neck.
"Akana Shigaraki."
Akana looked over to see her new big brother leaning against the door frame and grinning behind the embalmed hand that was latched onto the lanky preteen's face.
He rasped. "It means "To Pay in Blood", Lil' Sis... Soon, we'll make this world an easier place to live in for people like us... Don't that sound nice...?"
Akana slowly nodded.
She looked back into the milky white eyes of her new father. He grinned a smile full of crooked teeth before he reached into his suit jacket, pulled out a pouch of blood that she could smell was human, and handed it to her.
"Welcome to the family, Akana."
Akana weary smiled back, fangs and all.
