Can content be challenging without the possibility of failure?

I love content where I'm not necessarily sweating whether I'm going to end up succeeding in the end - only trying to work through it as efficiently as possible.

I love to optimize. I love to see if I can do something with less wasted time, fewer resources, less back and forth, etc. I like content that's hard enough to force me to be alert, but not so hard I'm stressed about it.

Do you like content like that? Do you like to optimize? Or are you bored unless there's the possibility of total failure?
