The problem: Health insurance decisions are usually high-anxiety and confusing. Most people just guess at the math between an HDHP and a PPO, or panic when they see a COBRA bill because they don't understand the employer subsidy drop-off. 

The build: I spend my day job dealing with healthcare benefits and trying to make these services actually usable for people. I got tired of seeing bad math, so I built a standalone, free hub to do the actual calculations: [PlanMath](https://pf-builds.github.io/planmath/)

Right now, it has four core calculators:  
\* Plan cost comparison (based on actual expected medical use)  
\* HSA vs FSA (factoring in forfeiture risk)  
\* COBRA true cost estimator  
\* Medicare Part B & D permanent penalty calculator

The UX approach: I wanted to strip out all the marketing fluff, lead-gen forms, and insurance jargon. The goal was zero friction, just enter your numbers and get a straight answer. For example, on the HSA vs FSA tool, instead of making people do tax math, I built it around capturing their feeling of certainty about their medical spending. 

The ask: I’d love for this community to tear down the flow and the service design.   
\* Is the cognitive load too high on the inputs, especially for the plan comparison?  
\* Are the results clear and immediate?   
\* Where are the friction points I missed?

There are no paywalls, no sign-ups, and no data harvesting. I might put a single ad at the bottom of the result screens eventually just to keep the lights on, but right now I just want to get the flow dialed in.
