Hey all!

This is my first time modding a fight stick outside of switching out my buttons. I'm partly intimidated, but want to try.

I have this Mad Catz Fightstick Pro from PS3. It works great and I use it on PC to play with friends with no issues. It of course doesn't work on PS5 though and so if I go to my weeklies, I have to play on controller. I originally bought one of the Brook conveters to use since it's cheaper and easier to convince my wife on the money. I thought it worked when I looked it up. Realized I confused my stick with a different one, so it didn't work with my stick and none of them work from what I can see.

So I bought this Brook Universal Fighting Board Fusion to put into it. I looked up videos on how to do it but I also noticed some nice enhancements others have done. I've been sitting on this board for over a year (so can't return it anymore) because I just keep feeling like I hit roadblocks. So I finally decided to come here with what I want to do and seek out advice or direction on how to accomplish it.

I would like to replace the cable with a detachable one. I saw it in a video that was modifying the MadCarz TE. In that they removed the cable storage compartment and added a piece from buttercade which allowed them to get additional button slots to put the new cable connector. I saw Buttercade didn't have one that works with my stick and don't see an option like that anywhere else. So 1) is this doable or do I need to just pivot away from this?

I also wanted to switch out the artwork which I see Focus Attack can do. However in their listing, it looks like it has 6 screws (3 across top and bottom) that you switch. Mine doesn't have these slots and so I'm just confused on how I would even do it. So 2) is this possible on the ps3 version?

Ultimately, what recommendations would you share for upgrading the stick? I figured since I'm already switching the board, I could attempt something else to make it more modern/my own, but feel like I'm limited from more straightforward options.

Any advice/thoughts is really appreciated
