Do portable docks still work on S2? (HDMI plug-in adapter)

Landed a new gig and I’ll be traveling a lot. Would like the option to play on the TV in the hotel rooms, but not sure if those adapters still work (read a few posts/YT vids about an update rendering them inoperable).

If they still work, do y’all have any recommendations for a functional adapter?
