18 month sleep regression... Just not wanting to sleep?

1-2 years old

So my son is 17 months and on 1 nap. Nothing in his schedule has changed and suddenly over night does not want to nap or go to bed at night. Wakes up around 7:30-8:00, naps at 1:00, wakes up from nap at 2:30-3:00, then goes to bed around 8:30-9:00.

But now, naps are done as soon as the 45 minute intruder arrives. And he has multiple crying wake ups at night. He was sleep trained at 5 months, and has slept through the night, minus when we went through regression phases.

But how much of this is simply just not wanting to sleep? We did the "crib hour" after the 45 minute intruder during his nap today. I always use the hatch app to change the brown noise over to the music we use for waking up. He cried and cried during crib hour, but as soon as I changed the music, he stopped crying and was talking happily in his crib. I changed it back to brown noise and the wailing started up again.

Hes tired, cause during crib hour, even though he was whining, he would start falling asleep sitting up. He would lay down with his eyes closed cause hes tired, but spring back up 2 seconds later crying again.

I feel like its just protesting sleep. Cause as soon as hes taken out, or seems to know its "wake up time" the crying stops. Even though he's exhausted.

What do I do. Were trying not trying to create new sleep habits, but also wondering is this regression is something to wait out. Maybe continue the crib hour? How long does this last? Im tired.
