hey folks! i'm francis, the creator of [**BodyBuddy**](https://bodybuddy.app/)**.**

**A — What it does**

it's an ai accountability coach you text with to help make better health decisions every day. We have an iOS app where you integrate healthkit to power the coach with data, gamification, and has rich planning & tracking features.

We launched at the beginning of the year and since have over 200k texts helping nudge people towards better health.

**B — What Makes BodyBuddy Different**

* **Accountability-first:** Most apps with an AI coach (eg Simple, MyFitnessPal, Google Health) bolted it onto an existing tracker. BodyBuddy is the inverse: the coach is the product, and the tracking exists to serve it. Our singular mission is building the best AI health accountability coach possible.
* **iMessage-native:** No app notifications, you get real texts from your coach like a person would. The AI products already in iMessage (Poke, Tomo) are general assistants, we're health-only, and depth beats breadth in this category.
* **Premium quality:** Human coaches (eg Future, Noom's coaches) can cost hundreds a month and vary in availability and reliability. Our coach is powered by frontier models (gpt-5.5 currently) remembers everything, sees all your HealthKit data, identifies patterns over time, and never has an off day, at a fraction of the price.
* **Powerful gamification:** Every time you plan ahead or follow through, you take care of your future self, like a tamagotchi. Earn points, badges, compete in our weekly leaderboard, and stay aligned with your future self.
* **Dynamic Island integration (first-of-its-kind):** In our latest release, your calories, meals, and ambient state stay live at the top of your screen *while you're texting the coach*. It gives a home to the side effects and ambient state that was otherwise invisible. The reason no one has done this before is typically an app doesn't have access to the Dynamic Island foreground unless it's backgrounded. In our case we are chatting over iMessage and our app is backgrounded, so the island stays live the whole time you're texting.
