CUSTOMERS ARE LAME
I really can’t grasp, the way some customers think. They throw the word abuse and HIPAA around, yet can’t define or spell either one. I was scrolling through Facebook, and the amount of people who complain about not getting their controls early is insane. Basically announcing they have an addiction because they can’t possibly wait 2 DAYS for their medication when they have 6 tablets worth left from getting it early EVERY MONTH PRIOR. Not to mention, how many are seriously stupid to the fact that pharmacists are doctors. Not MDs, but Doctors of Pharmacy.
“Well my doctor prescribed this so I think my doctor knows best”
Oh is that why your doctor sent in a prescription for a medication that doesn’t exist? A medication that is 3 times the amount you should ever be taking? A medication that you are allergic to? Really. You trust THAT doctor? Not the pharmacist who spent hours trying to get in contact with YOUR DOCTOR to fix YOUR DOCTORS mistake? Not the pharmacist who carefully made sure that your medication, doesn’t give you a reaction and kill you?
Are customers really that insane? YES A PHARMACIST HAS EVERY RIGHT TO DENY A SCRIPT. YES A PHARMACIST KNOWS MORE ABOUT MEDS THAN THE DOCTOR. What a Pharmacist learns in years of school, a doctor learns in one medication course. So at the end of the day, who do you think is more qualified on medication?
I would absolutely listen to a pharmacist over a doctor when it comes to meds because THATS ALL THEY DO, MEDS.
Then HIPAA, it’s not a violation for a doctor to ask you what you are taking a med for. ESPECIALLY when we have customers who tell us:
“Oh I need my medication for my heart, I can’t miss it or I’ll have a heart attack”
“Which medication”
“My adderall/my oxycodone”
-.- those people are why we ask
Everybody should be forced to work in retail so they can experience the stupidity, that we experience with them.
