Though it doesn’t take much effort to beat these guys and there isnt one way to to it, there is one method to completely dismantle their self esteem by treating them like a minor inconvenience rather than an opponent.

First return to base. We buy mercury threads and Negatron cloak. From here on out continue with your default build. Return to the lane with ult. Seeing you’re completely unresponsive to their poke, they will spam their skills on you, it will only tickle but they will oom quickly. If they are stupid (we already know they’re stupid since they picked mage to top in the first place) they will do this many times and have to base frequently. Your goal is to punish these gaps by shoving wave after wave and bashing towers.
First tower will fall quickly. Do we stop there? Do we help our team with stuff? No. Get their second tower also. Even put pressure on the inhib tower after that. Have them know their existence dont matter by tanking their skills but kill them if get too close. We will not go to other lanes or objectives. Run away from possible ganks and use ult if needed. Your purpose is have a neverending pressure on this lane that someone has to respond.
End result? 6k hp behemoth and an underleveled, starved liability that is supposed to be his ‘opposition’. Seeing this, their teammates will flame them like any sane person would. And here you go, thats how you have a bozo traumatized enough to never go anywhere near toplane ever again.
