Why can't I use ads!!!

I love the game, I love the format, I love how it functions, but God, the energy system is awful! Honestly, my biggest pet peeve is easily the fact that the game will give you ads and then not let you watch ads for energy! Does anybody else have this issue? Or is it just a me thing? It's infuriating!
