Date night restaurants worth a visit

Hi Hastings people,
The Wife and I will be popping down to your town in a few weeks for our anniversary, I wanted to book a restaurant for our evening meal, and was looking for recommendations
Our likes are Italian, Steak restaurants, so any recommends along those lines would be great.
Where do the locals go and steer clear of?
