Sense check at 39
Hi all,
Looking to get other views on current position and any opinions on FIRE age. The below are combined numbers between myself and wife both 39. We have two kids under 3. Intended FIRE number is about £50k per annum, ideally stretching up to £60k.
I'd like to be able to finish up at 50 (11 years), or at least dial down.
Numbers as follows:
My income is approx £105k, wife isn't working but intends to go back part time soon.
SIPP / DC pensions total combined £440k (330k /110k split) contributing approx £20k annually.
DB pensions approx £6k (£3k / £3k split) from age 65
ISA total £160k all in VWRP (adding £15k per annum from income, topped up from GIA keeping CGT in check)
GIA total £25k all in VWRP
Emergency fund £10k
Company shares £20k
Total: £215k
House worth £600k, £200k owed on mortgage.
No other debts, outright owned cars, outgoings are around £3k per month all in.
Ive done forward looking calculations, but would appreciate insight from the hive mind! I've found very similar positions on the sub with useful replies, so thought I'd do the same.
I'm also trying to justify a £12k spend on upgrading to an all electric car in the next few months.. Far from essential, but I like to keep the vehicles under 10 years old.
