Lightweigt tent recommendations
Looking for lightweight tent suggestions for under €200
I started camping recently and I use a Vango soul 200, but its just too heavy and bulky (2.3kg).
I researched different tents and found a few I liked but each of them had their problems for me.
The **3F UL Gear Lanshan 2** fits my budget, packs down to 34x15cm, and has a trail weight of only 1150 grams but I'm worried it wont hold up in Irish weather and strong winds, especially in the mountains. I also don't hike with trekking poles and it requires two of them to pitch. Does anyone have any experience with using the Lanshan 2 in very harsh weather conditions?
I also found out I could buy carbon fibre adjustable tent poles and use them instead of trekking poles but that would add extra weight and cost more money.
The **Naturehike Cloud up** **pro 2** also fits my budget but weighs more at 1530 grams and packs down to 40x13cm. It also only has 3000mm waterproofing compared to 5000mm for the Lanshan 2. Along with that, it has an interior height of only 105cm while the Lanshan has 125cm. One upside is that it's wider at 130cm compared to 110cm for the Lanshan.
Here's how they compare:
**Lanshan 2**
\-Weighs 1150 grams
\-Packs down to 34x15cm
\-Requires trekking poles
\-Might not be suitable for harsh weather
\-5000mm waterproof
\-110cm wide
\-125cm height
**Naturehike Cloud up** **pro 2**
\-Weighs 1530 grams
\-packs down to 40x13cm
\-Doesn't require trekking poles
\-3000mm waterproof
\-130cm wide
\-105cm height
If you have any suggestions for tents I'd love to hear them.
Here's my criteria:
\-It must weigh under 1600 grams AT MOST. The lighter the better.
\-It must pack down very compact.
\-It should be either a two person or a large 1 person. I want to store my backpack in the tent beside me and not feel cramped inside.
\-It should work well in bad weather.
\-It must a double-wall tent because of how damp it is here.
\-It should be available to buy in Europe. A lot of videos I watch show tents that either aren't sold here or cost a lot more here.
\-I'd like it to cost under €200.
Thanks for reading all this.
