Jade help

I've had this Jade for over a year and it's always been kind of spindly. it always drops its bottom leaves if you barely graze it, and I know jades do drop their bottom leaves but it's looking really bare and I feel bad :( it grows new leaves and is otherwise healthy and well watered but it's really scaring me. is it a problem with the roots/small pot or sunlight? I have it right by a window and none of my other succulents have a problem. I'd appreciate any help! I really love this jade
