Are beetles key at all for the DLC? (Please no spoilers)

No hate for people who enjoy them, but I just don't. Without sharing spoilers, can anyone speak to whether beetle battles are key for any of the key DLC quests, gear, story points, etc?

Put another way: Can I just skip these? I'm not trying to 110% the game. TIA.
