Great authors you love to hate or hate to love?

Me starting yet another audiobook by Adam Nevill: why do I do this to myself?

He's a good writer. He _scares_ me and I've read a _lot_ of horror. He writes folk horror, which is my favorite flavor.

The problem is how good he is, how vivid his horrors. He really REALLY gets under my skin and I love him for it. The man made me have nightmares about twigs. Gah!!!

But here we go again. And I'm super excited listen because I have no better sense lol
