[DIPLOMACY] France Agrees to Give Libya Long‐Term Aid in Return for Guaranteed Oil Export

DIPLOMACY

Libya will guarantee a supply of oil to France, and in return will come French investment (m: notably not French ownership of Libya's natural resources!), both economic and technical, to the Libyan oil industry, as well as investment in Libya's shipping infrastructure for said oil exports, and French investment in various other industrial development for Libya.

Prime Minister Abdessalam Giallud's state visit to France, which was preceded by last month's state visit of Revolutionary Chairman Gaddafi's to Paris to attend the memorial of General Charles de Gaulle, has succeeded in securing this long-term aid plan from France to Libya. Prime Minister Giallud's meetings with Prime Minister Marcellin and Foreign Minister Habib-Deloncle has also resulted in a successful arms deal of French weapons to be exported to Libya.
