Friend stored his bike at my apartment, bike got stolen AITAH

Just wanted some advise please.

We live in an apartment block. My “friend” wanted to store his bike for couple of days and asked if we can help. We said ok and initially took the Bike inside our apartment.

I then proposed to him that we have a bike room downstairs, which has cctv and a lock on the door ( which only allows people within the building access). If he wanted he can use this.

He agreed to this suggestion and willingly took the bike and stored it into the bike room.

The bike was in there for couple of days and today he came to take the bike. The bike was gone and the bike lock broken.

Now whilst this has happened my “friend” is shifting the whole blame on me saying that I said the bike was going to be safe due to cctv and lock. He says it’s my fault this has happened and I need to pay for the bike and raise a police investigation etc. He is demanding I fix this.

We had a back and forth and unfortunately this has led to uncomfortable conservations and profanities. Whilst I am devastated this has happened and genuinely feel bad that his bike got taken, I don’t think I am to be blamed for this.
