Sunlight Mode Not Working?

I used sunlight mode on my Poco X8 Pro Max and all it did was boost the brightness by a little bit, no matter where I was (outside on the sun or inside in a dark room) it always boosted the brightness by a small amount, automatic brightness worked far better and did it's job well so what's going on here?
