Play in volume wheel in dx270 r2r

Is there supposed to be a slight bit of play in the volume wheel in this dap I’ve seen some posts on here and headfi saying its a feature but idk its a lot of money for it to to wiggle a bit so i feel like i should return/exchange it for a new unit.
