What are the cons to eating dragon hearts?

I had Elden ring on a gaming laptop, and bought it on Xbox because laptop is just old now. It’s been 3 years since I played and all of it was a fairly blind play through. But I had used the dragon communion seal in my first run and ate all the hearts. Are there really any cons to doing that?
