Medical negligence

Location: Vancouver , BC.

Two weeks ago I went to emergency hospital in Langley because of deep cut on thumb. After waiting around 4 hours one of the doctors started examination and she said that none of nerves were damaged , so only stitches were required and I was good to go. I asked about the numbness as a response I got : it’s gonna come off by itself in 1 week. 2 weeks later none of sensitivity returned back so I went to another hospital( St Paul Hospital ). They performed examination, made a big cut on a finger and said that the nerve was completely cut. The stitched the nerve and the finger. I’m wondering if I can file a claim for medical negligence for failed nerve examination what could cause for total loss of thumb sensitivity if I would decide to trust doctor report and just wait more.
