7yo account with -8 karma. was reddit always this restricted?

For years I didn’t posted or commented. Mostly reading. But I think I did commented every now and then. Recently I’ve been wanting to be more active and share more but all my posts and most of my comments are removed. I also do t like commenting when there are people already said the same thing I wanted to say.
Also I just wanted to post a cute photo of my cat and keep getting removed.
How do I speed up my karma earning?
