Looking for beginner book recommendations

My boyfriend has been mentioning wanting to get into reading, I am a big reader but not sure he will enjoy the same books as me. He hasn’t read since high school but is interested in adventure books, I’m hoping to find something that will hook him quick and hopefully help him understand the love of reading. He isn’t big on sci-fi or fantasy. A fiction adventure book based in reality. If anyone has any suggestions for a book like that it would be much appreciated.
