Robert Jenrick: Reform are announcing an overhaul of ridiculous government contract rules to cut waste and back British jobs

Under rules created by the Tories in 2012 and kept by Labour, companies must show how they:

• create positive action programmes to promote diversity
• work towards net zero emissions and influence their customers to do so too
• develop ‘inclusive’ hiring practices
• provide help with English language proficiency
• raise awareness of modern slavery, including by running online campaigns and working with NGOs.
