how do i ask my dad for prom money

hi i’ll try and keep this short but i have prom comming up in the next two weeks.
my dad lives in a diffrent country (i live in england) and he pays child support whenever he feels like it (rarely)
he enjoys holding power over money and enjoys when my mum asks him for money because then it’s like she still needs him
prom has been massively expensive and we can afford everything but it would be nice if he could help out
my nan payed 475 pound for my dress (i can also wear to other occasions so not a complete waste of money)
and my mum payed over 100 pound for the tickets.
i still need to get my hair done and nails done witch is about 100 pounds i would say all together.
i also want to make it clear my dad can afford this he takes him his new wife and 4 kids on holiday twice a year and always has money for their trips.
i’m just not sure how to ask him as he will likely refuse but i hate putting the burden on my mum to pay for everything.
any advice on anything i could say to him on call or on messages would be hugely appreciated.
