How do I hide a rhino from my parents?

Hi everyone,

I’m a university student living about an hour away from my family. I’m currently planning a cosmetic surgery (rhinoplasty) for next summer (going alone). I’ve been saving up for it for a while, and it’s something I really want for myself.

However, I’m 100% sure I don’t want my family to know.They are very involved in my life, they don’t support any of my personal decisions and although I live an hour away, I’m terrified they might decide to "pop up" for a surprise visit or get suspicious if I don't answer their video calls for a few days.

My biggest anxieties are that even if I tell them I'm busy, what if they show up at my dorm while I’m still swollen or recovering? Or If I’m in Turkey for the surgery, how do I handle video calls without them noticing anything off? Don’t really mind the fact that they notice that I had done something AFTER the surgery (f.e when I met them after the surgery during a family event,I really don’t care tbh 🤷‍♀️)but the process

I’ve considered telling them I’m in a super intense study period for the summer session and need to focus, but I’m worried they won't respect that boundary.Need very advice that isn’t just tell them because I won’t
