Trying to record complete TeleMundo World Cup games

I've set my HDHR to tape the TeleMundo broadcasts of the World Cup's games. Most of the broadcasts go overtime from the allocated time-slot of the TV guide schedule.
Last Friday, when I realized the Argentina/Cabo Verde match had started about half hour before, I launched the recording from the start of the game, only to have the recording stopped before the last goals in the overtime.

Pretty upsetting to have missed the best part of that game; is there anyway to fix this for the finals - or, am I forced to tune-in live to see them without having these issues?
