Activation lock bypass?

My grandpa has passed way and my grandma gave me his old iPhone 7. It was factory reset before being logged off of the Apple account and now it is activation locked to his account, but nobody knows what his accounts name and password are. Is there anyway to bypass the activation lock to stop be able to get on the phone without bricking it?
