I'm very confused, please give advice

I watched a YouTube video on making a trading hall, and this redstone is very simple; however, for me, the redstone isn't doing what I want it to. I'm trying to make it so that when a villager lands on the pressure plate, the rail will flip, and the next minecart will pass by the pod that the villager is already in. The only problem is that it's doing the exact opposite. I built this same device as a test off recording and it worked perfectly fine. Just not here.
