Hello there

I have this question regarding direct sunlight (not filtered by glass) for my Monstera, as it has just moved to a new spot in my home. I know they prefer bright indirect light, which is what it was used to - and I just noticed this direct beam of light hitting its newest leaf (I was working and couldn’t see behind my monitor). My window is north west facing and I didn’t think it would receive full sun due to the position of my house and the skylight.

At the moment the picture is taken, it is under a skylight which I had opened to let some air through - though I’m worried it has been exposed to too much.; about 30-45 minutes of this intensity before noticed. My light meter showed \~40,000 lux with direct light (window open), then 25,000 lux direct and (window closed) but it was between 12.30/1.30pm here in London.

Previously, it would have received plenty of indirect/direct light but mostly in the morning (before 10/10.30am) - personally, I think it’ll be fine, but this is the first time being exposed to that intensity. Let me know if you have any experience of this or if I’m overthinking! It’s a heatwave again, so could do with the airflow, but I am prepared to suffer if she is to become unwell.

Thanks

How much direct light (early afternoon) can my Monstera tolerate?
