What is this subreddit's opinion on Simko Shikak?

I have heard various opinions, ranging from him being a respectable Kurdish nationalist and the founder/hero of the movement to an opportunistic murderer of Assyrians/Armenians who didn't care about Kurdistan, but only for personal gain.

I am not educated enough about him so I want to hear your thoughts.
