Are smart weapons worth using without a cyberdeck?

Did a netrunner for my first playthrough, and I wanna do a second run with actually using guns this time, with a Sandevistan. One problem. I'm really bad at shooters. Can't aim for shit. So, a gun that can aim for me sounds pretty nice. I hear Smart weapons aren't great in the early game and benefit a lot from perks, and with such a heavy int investment (as well as Precision Subroutes sounding fairly important), I have to wonder if the whole thing will work at all or if I just need to suck it up and git gud.
