Request for advice.

I am a writer by profession, outside of academics. I find myself, as all writers do at some point, really fascinated by the idea of having a instrument for my craft. I have loved fountain pens, although always a bit expensive for my pocket, but i have planned to use my first magazine sale to buy a fountain pen for myself. With the sole requirement being easy maintainance and lasting as long as I do, what fountain pen would you suggest?
