How do I (22F) tell if he (21M) genuinely enjoys you as a person, rather than just wanting to sleep with you once?
I’m 22F and meeting a 21M tonight who I matched with a few weeks ago. We’ve been talking since then, get on well, have had some good conversations and plenty of flirting. We’re planning on going for a drive and just seeing where the night goes.
We’re both open to something casual, so this isn’t about trying to turn it into a relationship.
The thing I’m struggling with is that if we get on, I’ll probably want to sleep with him. That’s part of why we’re meeting. But I don’t really enjoy one-night stands. How do you tell if he genuinely wants an ongoing casual thing rather than a one-night stand?
Ideally, if we have chemistry, I’d rather it become an ongoing casual thing where we both enjoy each other’s company, have good sex and keep seeing each other because we genuinely like spending time together.
I’ve noticed he follows a huge number of women on Instagram, which made me second guess things a bit. I know that alone doesn’t tell me much, but it got me thinking.
So my question is:
What do you actually look for during a first date that helps you judge whether someone genuinely enjoys your company and is open to seeing you again, versus someone whose interest begins and ends with sex?
I’m not asking how to guarantee an outcome. I know that’s impossible. I’m just interested in what behaviours, conversations or green flags people have personally found useful when making that decision.
